Preview: MidPoint Music Festival 2016

One of the best times of the year, MidPoint Music Festival is upon us! Cincinnati's three-day indie festival, MPMF once again greets us this year on Fri-Sat-Sun! This year, for the first time, all stages are within two blocks, newly centralized to the Main Street entertainment district.

This is one of the most exciting events in the city for indie rock fans (and us). MPMF has a tendency to expose us to artists that are just about to get major nationwide publicity. Each year the headliners get better and better. This year is no exception with bands such as Future Islands, Frightened Rabbit, JJ Grey & Mofro, Reggie Watts and Band of Horses

VIP and Three-day passes may be sold out, but single day tickets are still available HERE!

Have you created your own MPMF schedule?

MPMF Preview: Bob Mould is a Legend in His Own Time

There are bona fide rock and roll legends and then there are artists at the peak of their live prowess. The sets of that Venn diagram usually don’t overlap too much, but nearly 40 years after he formed seminal St. Paul hardcore outfit Hüsker Dü, Bob Mould is very much in both camps....

MPMF Preview: Wolf Parade

It has been a year noted by comebacks in the music world with acts such as LCD Soundsystem and Frank Ocean to name a few, but there is one very important band that should be noted also. Parsonsfield are a Roots Force to be Reckoned With

Though they call western Massachusetts home, Parsonsfield draws their name from the rural Maine town. It was there that they cut their debut, Poor Old Shine, which established them as a roots force to be reckoned with. The New York Times hailed the band as, "boisterously youthful yet deftly...

Lucy Dacus Doesn’t Want to Be Funny at MPMF

Lucy Dacus is just the right mix of southern soul and witty pop. Dacus is a singer/songwriter whose solo tunes have evolved into twangy indie rock slow-burners with help from the rest of her talented quintet. She began writing mostly for herself, but met up with like-minded players in Richmond,...
