Interview: Near Earth Objects to Play The Woodward Theater

We last spoke with Near Earth Objects in August. Near Earth Objects has since added a band member, started recording their first full length album and nearly sold out of merch at a show!  The band will be playing at The Woodward Theater on November 21st with Fluffer and Speaking Suns! Get to know Near Earth Objects a bit better and mark your calendar for the show next week!

Since we last spoke in August, what has been happening for Near Earth Objects?
A lot of interesting things have been happening with NEO lately. We started the recording process for our first full length album at Soap Floats Recording here in Cincinnati, and we will be dropping a single for that very soon. We have recently added a Cello player to our band, which has made for a very interesting dynamic to our style of music. We always had discussed adding another member and instrument, and always came to the conclusion that we wanted strings, and Cello seemed to cover a wide variety of music ranges, and needless to say it worked. A few other exciting things worth mentioning, is being asked to play The Woodward Theater, as well as starting to shoot our first larger production music video, and a kickstarter.

How does it feel to be one of the first local bands to be asked to play at The Woodward Theater?
We are honored to be one of the first bands to play The Woodward. It is exciting to be apart of getting the venue warmed up, and ready for much larger acts to come. We are huge fans of MOTR Pub, both as guests and musicians.

What has been one of the most memorable things to happen to the band?
Our EP release show at MOTR Pub. We sold almost every copy, and saw an amazing amount of support from our friends and people who had never seen us before. It was a packed house, and we played with a spectacular band from Chicago called Bailiff.

What is next for Near Earth Objects?
Our last show of the year will be at The Woodward Theater, then we will hibernate in the studio and try to finish this album by late spring. We plan on setting up a spring tour to support it. We will also continue to work on our kickstarter video, as well as our first music video. A lot of exciting media and shows ahead to support our full length.
