Head into the city this weekend to experience MidPoint Music Festival: Cincinnati's three-day indie festival. MPMF greets us this Thu-Fri-Sat for the 13th time in Over-the-Rhine and Downtown Cincinnati.

This is one of the most exciting events in the city for indie rock fans (and us). MPMF has a tendency to expose us to artists that are just about to get major nationwide publicity. And this year, MidPoint is reeling us in with three great headliners: Chromeo, The Afghan Whigs, and OK Go (yes, they're back).

You can grab a three-day pass for just $79 via CincyTicket.

We've put together a full festival schedule that you can use to plan your next stop before and during the festival. We've also got you covered with a whole bunch of interviews and previews that we have been posting over the past few months. See you there!

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, “what’s the funkiest thing happening in my life right now?” If you don’t have an answer to the question, and even if you do, it should be Chromeo in Washington Park on Thursday night at Midpoint. Chromeo is the perfect convergence of the disco wave...

MPMF Preview: Joseph Arthur Lyrics Will Draw You In

Discovered by Peter Gabriel and from Akron, OH , singer/songwriter and indie folk artist, Joseph Arthur will be performing on Friday at the main stage in Washington Park.   When I first heard Jo’s music, his lyrics jumped out at me. I love his words, love his music. It’s great to see some of...

MPMF Preview: The Musical Miracles of Milagres

How do you feel about emotional rollercoasters in your headphones? Music that helps you feel, but only enough to have no idea exactly what is is that you’re feeling? In a way, Milagres (which means “wonderful events attributed to supernatural powers) fits that profile: they’re perfect for...

Great Caesar aims for the heart with a vulnerable blend of brass, voice, and indie-rock, drawing from acts like Arcade Fire and Beirut to create music that confronts the things that really matter: love, legacy, and the complexity of human relationships.  The NYC band’s 2014 debut phenomenon,...

MPMF Preview: The Afghan Whigs

The Afghan Whigs (Washington Park Mainstage, Friday, September 26, 8:30) I have seen a lot of music in this town; never have I been present for anything like The Afghan Whigs' return to Bogarts in October of 2012. Even before Wussy's (typically expert) warmup set, there was a palpable electricity...

MPMF Preview: Arum Rae is Your New Warranted Queen

Arum Rae should be on your must see list for Midpoint Music Festival. Arum is touring in support of her entrancing Warranted Queen EP, that was released in April. She is phenomenal live, the kindof voice you have to see live to believe it. Arum is no stranger to the stage. In the past few years,...

MPMF Preview: Saintseneca Will Make it's Way onto Your Playlist

I don’t really remember where or how I heard of Saintseneca.  I have a playlist on Spotify that I fill with suggested bands and albums that I want to eventually check out.  That playlist is often my soundtrack as I drive around the city.  At some point Saintseneca’s latest album Dark Arc...
