Front man from one of your past favorite local bands Ellison, Joshua Hill is busting out with a new project called The Grey Academy. It's been 4 years since the last Ellison release, but Hill is back and is supported by some familiar faces, making for an amazing lineup.
However, don't expect to hear the same type of songs from this lineup. Hill has taken a departure from the indie, pop, and rock sound and created a much darker rock experience. The sound of The Grey Academy is self-described as if the band Interpol hosted a Bloc Party, and the band playing there was The Killers, joined by members of Mutemath.
Doing mostly all of the writing and arranging himself, Joshua Hill has taken on the responsibility of vocals, guitars, and programming of drum and string parts. The Grey Academy lineup includes: Kent Landvatter on bass, JD Carlson playing synth and keys, and Stefan Wright on drums.
The Grey Academy is playing this Saturday at The Northside Tavern with special guests Pluto Revolts, and Come Here Watson guaranteeing for a night of superb music that your friends will be talking about for weeks. See you there!
