The Grey Academy

It’s been 4 years since the band Ellison has released an album. Now front man Joshua Hill is emerging from the shadows with a new project called The Grey Academy. Supported by former members from the band Ellison, Hill is in good company, however fans shouldn’t expect to hear the same type of songs from this familiar line up. Hill has taken a departure from the indie, pop, and rock sound and with The Grey Academy created a much darker rock experience. The sound of The Grey Academy could be described as if the band Interpol hosted a Bloc Party, and the band playing there was The Killers, joined by members of Mutemath.
Doing mostly all of the writing and arranging himself Hill has taken on the responsibility of vocals, guitars, and programming of drum and string parts. The Grey Academy lineup includes; Kent Landvatter on bass, JD Carlson playing synth and keys, and accompanied by Stefan Wright on drums.
