Wilder will be releasing their full-length album at The Southgate House Revival, this Saturday with local favorites; Chelsea Ford & The Trouble, The Poor Hours and Honey & Houston!
Wilder formed in 2015; releasing their debut EP, playing a lot of shows and landing themselves a nomination for Best Americana Act by The Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. Since then the band’s sound has evolved with more leanings toward 70s style rock and roll but stays true to Americana with some definite country twang spattered throughout their songs. Influenced by iconic writers like Petty and Springsteen the writers; Randy Steffen and Kelly Thomas draw on relatable themes that center on the ebbs and flows of life. The new release, titled, Pick Your Poison, is made up of songs about death, ego, losing yourself, finding yourself, forbidden love and lasting love. The band boasts some of the best local players; Kevin Hogle (drums), John Schmidt (bass), Zach Rowe (electric guitar, vocals), Randy Steffen (guitars, vocals) and Kelly Thomas (vocals). Wilder has been playing together long enough to have a distinct sound and to really jell as a band. The CD is set to release locally on March 2nd and digitally to all major outlets March 16th.
They’ve invited some of their good friends and talented musicians to share the stage with them for the release; Chelsea Ford and The Trouble, The Poor Hours and Honey & Houston. Wilder will perform the full album and then some from the EP along with crowd favorites.
