The Vims Release Debut EP at The Octave

On Friday, The Vims are releasing their debut EP Set It Up at The Octave in Covington with Season Ten, Misnomer, and DJ FurSur! Don’t miss the chance to celebrate the highly anticipated release. Oh, and it’s free!

We sat down with the band to get the lowdown on the new EP and other exciting happenings!

Tell us about the new EP…
Set It Up is our debut EP. We had some fantastic collaborations with Moonlight Studios, Relay Recording in Columbus, and Kyle Edwards from The Cordial Sins. We released our first single off the EP titled “MS7” in December just before we opened for Harbour at Madison Theater and it already has over 3,000 streams on Spotify. We did an exclusive release of our second single “Control” two weeks before the full EP release with INHAILER Radio, who has been a great partner in promoting our big shows and releases. We’re excited the other tracks are finally out so we can properly introduce ourselves to the scene.

What can we expect at the release show this Friday?
Our shows are high energy and interactive which is perfect for our enthusiastic fan base that loves to dance. We want to make this show even more of a party than they usually are, so we bumped up the production and added some new songs to our performance. We’re also excited about the lineup we locked in for the release show. Season Ten and Misnomer will be kicking the night off and DJ FurSur will keep the party going after our set.

What is next for The Vims?
Of everything we have coming up, we’re most excited to open for Moon Taxi on Saturday, March 24 at Madison Theater. Aside from promoting and preparing for that, we’re working on organizing our local summer dates now with some great bands from Cincinnati and elsewhere. Our lead guitarist, Keegan, actually lives in Louisville, so we’re looking forward to playing more shows there and Columbus - where Lewis, our lead singer is originally from. We’ll have another single out in a few months before we begin recording our next album. But until then, we’re glad we’re able to enjoy this release and start playing more local shows.
