Friend to CincyMusic and all around Good Dude Travis Talbert wants to let you know his ambient/instrumental/vibe-y project Mavis Guitar has a live album coming out next month.

Friend of CincyMusic and all around good dude Travis Talbert (guitarist, Frontier Folk Nebraska) is set to release his latest album under the moniker of Mavis Guitar. Tony Delk’s 53 Point Game will be available to purchase next month, on Friday, March 24.

Perennial favorite and apparent non-sleeper Travis Talbert - aka Mavis Guitar - is back with two new records, just in time for this month’s Bandcamp Day!

Built from various pieces of his own musical identity, Mavis Guitar presents The Teardowns, what Travis Talbert is calling this particular Mavis Guitar Adjacent project, is an exercise in easy listening. And when I say, “easy listening,” I don’t mean in the “standing in an elevator, background music” kind of way. It’s music that is, quite simply, easy to listen to. Repeatedly.

If nothing else, this quasi-isolation has led Travis Talbert down a path of rumination, a place where he’s sitting in the sublime and working through some shit. We should all be so lucky, to be honest.

CincyMusic, Cincy Groove, and The Women’s Groovement have teamed up for two nights of Live Streaming music from 24 amazing bands and artists to benefit The Southgate House Revival on Friday June 19th and Saturday June 20th!

It’s really impossible to know where the creative spark for any one thing might originate. For Travis Talbert, though, staying at home during this year’s pandemic, the time with his family has him finding new ways to tap into that creativity.
