This past weekend, Midpoint Music Festival took place inside of the Taft Theatre and Masonic Center in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. The venue change gave the festival a very different feeling compared to the outdoor location in Over the Rhine where Band of Horses headlined last year. The Taft Theatre / Masonic Center featured unique historical architecture that gave attendees a more refined experience and provided a centralized location for the many bands to showcase their music. Going to this festival gave me the feeling of a classy night out to the ballet or opera and exploring the different ball rooms was an adventure in its self.

One of the best times of the year is almost here, MidPoint Music Festival! MPMF will feature more than 50 local, regional, national and internationally recognized acts including a diverse mix of up-and-coming artists and bands in addition to some of the biggest names in festival history. Taking place at a new location this year, fans can enjoy music across four stages at the Taft Theatre, the Ballroom at the Taft Theatre, the Masonic Cathedral, and the Masonic Ballroom.

Adam Torres is a singer-songwriter who grew up right down the street in West Chester, OH, moved to Athens, OH for college and eventually settled in Austin, TX. Torres’ voice has the ability to take you on a journey. A delicate falsetto that ebbs and flows through his storytelling.

Swarming Branch aspire to be the modern Midwestern Steely Dan. The band's name is a reference to both the nature of its membership, which is intentionally and perpetually in flux, and its sound, which features densely worded slant rhyme over intertwining, capricious, often improvised melodies.

Jax Anderson aka Flint Eastwood is a powerful songstress from Detroit, MI. She creates fusions of rock, hip-hop and electronica that aspire to an importance that's uncommon for pop music.

This morning, MidPoint Music Festival announced their full stage-by-stage schedule. MPMF takes place in Downtown Cincinnati, near 5th & Broadway, on September 23-24.

On Saturday, September 23, MidPoint Music Festival welcomes Toronto baroque-pop supergroup Broken Social Scene for their first ever performance in the Queen City.

Mad Anthony is quite easily the nicest band in Cincinnati. In a city where everyone knows each other in a roundabout way, never once has a negative word ever been muttered about the band. On top of being the nicest band, they are one of the most hardworking, and just plain ROCK.

MPMF, which takes place in Downtown Cincinnati on September 23-24, has announced a ton of new bands and has revealed the daily lineup! Plus, a good chunk of the new artists are local to Cincy.
