There is absolutely no shortage of things to do in Cincinnati this weekend. Post-holiday or not, there is a wild amount of live music happening across the city. One might even, perhaps, feel thankful for such a glut of possible gigs to get to.

Of note, and worth your consideration, this Saturday marks the return of art-punk darlings Lung to Northside Tavern this Saturday night. Along with friends Dead Bob (ex-NoMeansNo) and Keen Gene, the band will be throwing down their last local performance until the release of their next LP sometime in early-ish 2025. So if you want to get more one fix in, or check out one of Cincy’s best live bands for the first time, this is it for a while.

2024 has been a busy year for Lung - they’ve been on the road almost as much as they’ve been home, and it looks like 2025 is going to be much the same. Once and future tour mates, post-punk outfit Dead Bob (also understood to be the solo project of NoMeansNo’s John Wright) have already trekked most of the continental United States with Lung this year, while relative newcomers Keen Gene, a glam rock quartet hailing from the Queen City, will be rounding things out and kicking things off at Northside Tavern on what’s going to be a chilly final night of November. For Lung, this will be a homecoming worth celebrating - with Dead Bob bringing seasoned veteran status to the stage and this being Keen Gene’s live debut, it promises to be one of the most memorable shows in Cincinnati this year.
