The Racket Club Release Holiday Single, "I Can't Believe That Christmas Time Is Here"

The Racket Club, a musical collective led by multi-instrumentalists Josh Muddiman and Tim Brown are back with their second release of 2023!

Following July’s Full Speed Ahead, the duo, all their instruments, and a handful of friends wrote and recorded an original holiday tune steeped in nostalgia, dosed with a mild swagger, and plenty of horns. “I Can’t Believe That Christmas Time Is Here” harkens back to an indeterminate time, but feels very 80’s in both its structure and production, and I mean that in the best way possible. This wouldn’t be out of place on the soundtrack to an 80’s holiday movie or TV special - the instrumental version of the song feels very intro/outro for a themed holiday something, which makes it, honestly, feel almost instantly classic. A strange trick to be able to pull off in just under 5 minutes.

If you’re not familiar with The Racket Club, now’s a good time to get acquainted. After releasing their first full-length in 2020, which featured collaborations with The Hiders, 500 Miles to Memphis, Calumet, Veronica Grimm, Frontier Folk Nebraska, The Harmed Brothers, and many more, the collective has since released 4 more EPs, including this year’s Full Speed Ahead.

Click the positively delightful single artwork below to check out the track on Bandcamp, and it should be populating your streaming service of choice in the days ahead. A good way to kick off December, isn’t it? Cheers, y’all, and Happy Holidays!
