Do the post Labor Days blues have you feeling down? Still longing for more days lying by the pool? Don’t worry, Danzig is still planning for a “Dirty Black Summer.”
Danzig’s first solo album, simply titled Danzig, turns 35 this year. To celebrate this historic occasion, Danzig is playing the album in full on this tour. While the underground was well versed in Danzig’s previous bands, The Misfits and Samhain, it’s this album that introduced “Evil Elvis” to the rest of the world. While “Mother,” may be the best-known song on this release, there are plenty more to love. The album features such classics as “Twist of Cain,” “Am I Demon,” “Possession” and many more.
For the past couple years, Danzig has often mentioned that he’s not going to tour much more. He’s kept his word too as each tour gets a little shorter with less stops across the country. While this tour is a celebration of the first album’s longevity, it’s also being billed as Danzig's last tour for the foreseeable future.
Luckily for us the dark crooner will make a stop at the MegaCorp Pavilion in Newport, Kentucky on September 16th. And he’s not coming alone. Joining him on this run are Satanic Duwoppers, Twin Temple and Black Metal legends Behemoth. (Cleveland’s answer to filth and sleaze, Midnight, will not be at the Newport show)
This is a definitely a show that you do not want to miss!
