With just about a month to go before releasing Don Giovanni solo debut, I Was Due for a Heartbreak, Cincinnati’s Maura Weaver has dropped the first single - and new video - from the album.

“Sunshine” is a quiet, contemplative, albeit sunny-sounding offering, sung in falsetto, with subtle and rhythmic plucked strings throughout. It’s short, concise, lo-fi and minimalist, and a rather charming prelude for the album set to release on September 15. Check out the song and video below.

You’ll recognize Maura Weaver from a wide variety of bands, including Cincy Pop-Punk outfit Mixtapes, as well as her collaboration with Mike Park, Ogikubo Station, and other projects.
