You are not going to want to miss Indie Fridays Powered by CincyMusic this Friday! Jessica Lea Mayfield, Sarah Asher and Flying Underground will be taking over the Square!

Jessica Lea Mayfield is an American singer-songwriter. She first performed with her family bluegrass band One Way Rider at the age of 8. At age 15, Mayfield recorded her first EP White Lies in her brother’s bedroom, printing only 100 copies. One of those copies fell into the hands of Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. After an introduction, Mayfield and Auerbach hit the studio. A featured vocalist on The Black Keys’ Attack and Release, Dan Auerbach returned the favor by producing Mayfield’s first studio album, recorded over the course of two years in his home studio.

Delving into country, folk and soul, With Blasphemy, So Heartfelt is a collaborative project on which Mayfield’s sultry voice adds flair to edgy lyrics and melodies.

Cincinnati based Singer-songwriter Sarah Asher is known for her unique voice and emotive songwriting. Whether or not you are familiar with her work, when you first hear Asher’s voice, you at once feel a comfortable kinship, as if this is an artist who you’ve always known. With her soulful performances and deeply personal songwriting, Sarah Asher has quickly become a hidden gem of Cincinnati's music scene.

Instigated by singer/songwriter/guitarist, Brian Lovely, Flying Underground is vocalist Kelly McCracken, drummer Brian Malone and bassist Dave Ramos. FU is a post The Who/XTC/Replacements/ Guided By Voices/Queens Of The Stone Age kinda thing. Just add kick ass female singer. Visceral, psychedelic, whimsical, oblique, heretical and subversive. In other words, a rock band.
