Local Bands Unite to Support Benefit Concert for Cancer

Celebrating its 7th year, Rock’n Revival For the Cure is once again raising awareness for research and treatment for a type of cancer called Glioblastoma. The event which takes place this Saturday, March 11th, at 3p at The Southgate House Revival in Newport, KY, will feature over 20 of the best local bands from around Cincinnati on three stages.

“Rock’n Revival For the Cure is a full house event,” said Adam Forsthoefel, co-founder and organizer of the event. “In 2017, my dad, John Forsthoefel, passed away from Glioblastoma. My brother and I have been inspired to put on an annual event in order to raise money for finding a cure.”

Some of the bands performing in this year’s Rock’n Revival For the Cure event include The Grove, See You in the Funnies, Jim Trace and the Makers, Green Light Morning and Junior Citizens. Each year, over 800 people are in attendance to show support for the cure.

So far, the event has raised over $50,000, with $10,000 raised just last year alone. All proceeds will support The John Forsthoefel Glioblastoma Research Fund.

“My dad was always a huge music fan,” said Forsthoefel. “I put together this event initially to put as many people as I could in one room to show my dad all of the support he had. We enjoyed it so much, that we continued the event after his passing.”

Rock’n Revival For the Cure will also feature local food and beverage companies, which include Roll On In, Any Style Hot Dog and Rhinegeist. Rhinegeist will donate $1 for every Rhinegiest pint sold, benefiting the research fund.

“I sincerely thank all of those that have been a part of making this event happen,” said Forsthoefel.

Tickets for Rock’n Revival For the Cure are $20 in advance and $30 at the door.
