Punkerton Records will be putting on its first annual Hell Is Ohio Fest at Swine City Brewing this weekend. This festival benefits Punk Rock Saves Lives, a music-based nonprofit that focuses on health and wellness (including mental health), human rights, and equality.
The two-day music festival, inspired by the (in)famous “Hell Is Real” sign that can be seen on Interstate 71 between Columbus and Cincinnati, will take place on June 17–18th. This rain-or-shine event is friendly for all ages and will feature 18 rock ‘n’ roll, punk, alternative, and emo acts from in and around Ohio, including 500 Miles to Memphis, Tiger Sex, Trash Knight, Bundy and The Spins, Viceroy Kings, and many MORE!!
Initially established in 2002 in Paris, Texas, before reforming in 2020 just outside of Columbus, Punkerton Records promotes musical acts and bands from all genres, including punk rock, alt-country, and underground hip-hop, as a record label, promoter, and production company.
Hell Is Ohio kicks off Friday at 4:00 pm. Two-day general admission tickets cost just $30.00. Friday night festivities include six unique musical acts, and a single-day ticket for the evening cost $15.00. Gates will reopen on Saturday at 11:00 am for all-day entertainment featuring 12 local, Ohio-based bands. A single-day general admission ticket for Saturday will only set you back $20. Attendees can purchase their tickets online or at the gate.
