Kenyan Duo DUMA Get Extreme in Cincinnati

Photo Cred: Kachna Baraniewicz

Arriving in Cincinnati tonight, acclaimed Kenyan experimental industrial metal duo DUMA will take over (DSGN)CLLCTV in Northside for an extremely intimate show. White Sepulchre Records and Torn Light Records have partnered to bring this absurdly gnarly tour to town.

Along with Cincinnati Art-Punks Fruit LoOops, DUMA will bring their chaotic, genre bending take on thrashy electronic metal to the Queen City in support of their 2020 release, a self-titled debut. Martin Khanja (aka Lord Spike Heart) and Sam Karugu, veterans of Nairobi's flourishing underground metal scene, came together in 2019 to form Duma (Darkness in kikuyu), entrenching themselves as iconoclastic harbingers, fusing hardcore, punk, thrash, metal, and industrial into something wholly original.

Don’t believe me? Check out this video for “Lionsblood,” from their self-titled debut on Ugandan label Ngeye Ngeye Tapes.

DUMA comes to Cincinnati, and a few other dates throughout the midwest, fresh off a major EU tour, and in preparation for new music, including a new 7” via Sub Pop Records. Want to get a little more familiar? You can listen to their full album on Bandcamp, here.

Tickets are limited, so head over to the Facebook event page for all the info.
