Grateful Dead legend and the “Other One,” Bob Weir will be at Taft Theatre Wednesday night with one of his many changing touring bands Bob Weir and the Wolf Brothers. This tour will be an intimate evening with Weir where he will of course play many of his classics from his days touring with the Dead as well as songs off of his 2016 solo album Blue Mountain.
Weir kicked off their 20-date tour in Ithaca, NY and will go only till the end of the month ending on March 30thin Charleston, SC. Weir true to any of his shows might as well be picking from a hat on what songs they’ll be playing on this tour. Saturday, Weir opened their Connecticut set with “Bertha” into “Loser” two classic Jerry Garcia and Bob Hunter songs.
As Weir has gotten older his ability to surprise audiences has only gotten better. With covers of Bob Dylan, the Band, and more dedicated fans will be pleasantly surprised. This may be the only chance for many in Cincinnati to see Weir, since his other touring band Dead and Company, which features John Mayer on lead guitar, won’t be stopping in Cincinnati this Summer.
There are still tickets available for the show Wednesday night and you can check out the review of the show Thursday.
