Christmas with: The Sunburners and Queen City Silver Stars

The Sunburners and Queen City Silver Stars are teaming up for an evening in the Over-the-Rhine district in Cincinnati for a night of island music with the Christmas spirit at Mr. Pitifuls. They are dubbing this “Island Christmas Holiday” and the two gentlemen that brought this together Scott McEvoy (The Sunburners) and Mark Becknell (QCCS), figured with winter closing in and the cold settling in for the next few months they would bring some warm thoughts with their particular brands of island music for this holiday season.

For a couple of hours, you can escape the cold with some the island music that these two bands are presenting. Not only will the music be provided but they will also be collecting donations for the most needy of our community. Mr. Pitiful’s will be decked to the 9’s in the holiday island spirit. Folks that plan on attending are encouraged to dress accordingly including and not limited to yep, you may have guessed it, ugly Christmas sweaters.

There will be a couple special treats. Such as a banjo strumming Santa Claus, and a 10-piece percussion jam on “Little Drummer Boy,” and a Christmas Songbook Sing-a-Long at the end of the evening. Mark and Scotty will perform an adaptation of “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” an arrangement of “Oh, Holy Night,” and their take on Vince Guaraldi’s “Linus and Lucy.” This will make for one epic evening to take in and to get yourselves in the Christmas spirit if it has been slow going.

Mr. Pitiful’s is playing host to this wonderful event. That will be taking place this coming Friday, December 16^th from 6-9 pm. The kiddos unfortunately, will have to stay home, as this is twenty-one and over. However, with there being a donation box you will be able to help a family in need. I cannot stress enough as well to dust off that ugly Christmas sweater. For one night leave the cold behind and join in the warmth that will behold Mr. Pitiful’s for the evening. Escape those winter blues and join in the “Island Christmas Holiday.”
