Composed of a numerous amount of DJs, MCs, and producers this hip-hop group from Cincinnati really push the envelope by incorporating a variety of genres in to their own style of hip-hop.
Mixed with a little Beastie Boys and Nas, Animal Crackers have been making hip-hop music since the 90s.
They are now comprised of Casual T, DJ DQ, Dirty Ru, King SMO, Mike B, The Nati Kid, and Topspeed. There are also secondary members which include EQ, Haiku, Philly Phil, and Mr. Dibbs. A previous member, who went by the name of Unseen, passed away in 2006.
By the late 90s, the band drew a larger audience, playing bigger venues in the Cincinnati area. The band has had 5 full-length albums and won four Cincinnati Entertainment Awards.
The Animal Crackers will be showcasing what they do best at the Ubahn Festival on Saturday October 22 at the Riverfront Transit Center downtown. The festival is on Friday October 21 and Saturday October 22. Some of the other acts include Nas, Atmosphere, Machine Gun Kelly, and Mod Sun. The festival starts at 7 p.m. on both days. Single-day tickets are $49.00 plus fees and for both days they are $89.00 plus fees on Ticketmaster.
