The Woodward Theater will play host to 3 renowned local acts this coming Friday, February 6th. Making their debut at the newly opened OTR venue, Daniel Martin Moore, Ric Hordinski and Band, and CincyMusic.com favorites The Mitchells will share the stage over the course of what promises to be a dramatically entertaining evening of music.
Daniel Martin Moore, hailing from our neighbor to the south, the venerable state of Kentucky, brings a long list of collaborations and encounters to the stage, taking almost a decade’s worth of folk meanderings - both on esteemed label Sub Pop and his own label OK Recordings - and sharing them with the appreciative and friendly crowd. As he’s working on his next release, lucky fans may find themselves treated to new music in the making.
Joining in the evening’s festivities, Ric Hordinski and Band will bring a seasoned veterans flavor to the new venue, offering multiple bands worth of material - like Over The Rhine, as he’s their former guitarist, and his own project, Monk. Spanning over 2 decades, there’s plenty of room to explore their own brand of folk.
Cincinnati darlings The Mitchells will provide their unique take on modern folk and indie, highlighting their opening set with tracks from their beautifully conceived and critically lauded 2014 self-released full-length debut. Always a joy to watch and listen to, make sure to arrive early enough to catch one of Cincinnati’s finest acts.
As has been proven time and again, Cincinnati continues to provide incredible spaces to equally incredible bands. With the doors at The Woodward Theater now open, and bands of this caliber becoming a regular occurrence, we have every reason to continue celebrating.
Be sure to check out all the bands this Friday, February 6th at The Woodward Theater. Doors are at 8, tickets are on sale now.
