Metal legends Anthrax are set to take Cincinnati to task tonight at Bogart’s as they headline the Metal Alliance Tour, a jaunt spanning the U.S. between the end of March and end of April. Along with Anthrax, Exodus, High On Fire, Municipal Waste, and Holy Grail aim to make it a night of epic metal mischief. As they celebrate its 15th anniversary, they will be playing their breakthrough opus Among The Living in it’s entirety, and a few other tracks that fans are sure to appreciate.
The tour comes at the perfect time to celebrate the release of Anthems, an EP comprised of covers of some of their favorite, and most influential, artists from the 70’s. Rush, AC/DC, Boston, Cheap Trick and others all get the Anthrax treatment over the course of 6 tracks (plus the track “Crawl” from their 2011 album Worship Music, as well as a remix of the same), bringing something new to the table for fans, while respecting those that came before.
Any and all respectable metalheads should plan on attending what promises to be one of the heaviest nights in Cincinnati this spring, so prepare for your bangovers accordingly.
