In 2024, the jazz world celebrated the 100th birthday of legendary trombonist J.J. Johnson. To mark this centennial, NYC trombonist John Fedchock recorded a live quartet album, “Justifiably J.J.,” in Johnson's hometown of Indianapolis. Released in September, the album’s CD release tour includes this special one-time performance at Caffe Vivace. Featured alongside Fedchock will be an All-Star Ohio rhythm section including Cincinnati's Phil DeGreg (piano) and Aaron Jacobs (bass) with Columbus' Jim Rupp (drums). The quartet will perform music from J.J. Johnson’s classic recordings, spanning his heralded life. This is a one-time event not to be missed!
