BLONK CINCINNATI: Your Unofficial Guide to BLINK 2024

Get ready for an immersive experience at the BLINK Light & Art Festival in Cincinnati! From October 17-20, festival-goers can enhance their visit with the newly updated BLONK app— an unofficial yet essential guide designed by local artists and software engineers, Nathan Bolender and Jason Alghussein.

As a comprehensive tool for navigating the festival, BLONK provides an interactive map that features all official installations alongside exciting unofficial "rogue" art installations and events happening throughout the city. Users can easily mark off the installations they've visited and star those they want to see, ensuring they don't miss any of the 90+ art installations that BLINK has to offer.

Key Features of the BLONK App Include:
A complete, interactive map of official and unofficial art installations
 Up-to-date event and music schedules
Offline capabilities to ensure seamless navigation without cell service
The ability to star attractions for a personalized experience
The ability to track installations you've visited
Filters to sort installations by type and status
Walking directions to each location and amenity

"BLONK began as a passion project just two weeks before BLINK 2022, when we realized festival-goers needed a better way to navigate the experience," said Nathan Bolender. "In just two weeks, we built a prototype that enhanced the experience for over 8,000 attendees, and we're excited to bring this year's app to an even broader audience."

BLONK is not just about the official BLINK installations; it aims to spotlight local artists and communities often overlooked by mainstream channels. The app also invites users to submit rogue installations and events for inclusion. Festival-goers can contribute to the app by emailing their events to info@blonkcincinnati.com.
