After a 6 year hiatus, The Good People Festival returns, promising a day filled with music, vendors, and community engagement. The festival will take place on July 14th at The Southgate House Revival in Newport, Kentucky, and aims to celebrate all the good things our region has to offer while benefiting the work of the Incubator Kitchen Collective.
This year’s lineup includes headliners Local Honeys who promise to bring their charisma, charm and deep love for old time traditions to the main stage. Maria Carrelli will also perform fresh off her cheerful and poetic live release Nobody’s Fool: Live At Arnold’s. Other artists slated to appear are Stephen J Williams, Ray Vietti, Adam Lee, Chelsea Ford, Tin Foil Hat Cowboys, Ben Knight & David Faul.

As in the past, the event will be held on a Sunday from 1pm-7pm and benefit the mission of the Incubator Kitchen Collective (IKC). The IKC helps local food entrepreneurs succeed in a community-driven commercial kitchen that combines resources, knowledge, and experience right here in the NKY/Cincinnati region. Currently supporting 40 small businesses, some of whom will be participating as vendors, the IKC is working to broaden our region’s palette while expanding its small business community.
Past Good People Festivals were originally rooted at Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center in Covington with money being raised through beer sales. This time around all the proceeds from ticket sales will be going to support the IKC mission. The move to the Southgate House Revival allows the Good People Festival to add a new feature, the VIP Lounge. VIP ticket holders will be treated to their own private upstairs lounge featuring a BBQ buffet provided by Parts & Labor BBQ, a drink ticket, a private bar, and two exclusive sets of music.
In addition to live music, The Good People Festival will feature yummy eats from Parts & Labor BBQ and Pata Roja Tacos as well as vendors selling handmade crafts and a pop-up record store.
“We are grateful to our sponsors who have helped us revive this wonderful event,” said Matt Spaulding, director of operations at the IKC. Those sponsors include Gerard Roofing, Shepherd Wealth Management, Boston Beer Company, Stagnaro, Unataza Coffee, Wimberg Landscaping, Redden Meat and Seafood, Silver Spring House restaurant, and Cincinnati Wood Collaborative,
