Daniel Martin Moore and Brianna Kelly Stop at Commonwealth Sanctuary

This Saturday, Daniel Martin Moore and Brianna Kelly are playing at Commonwealth Sanctuary!

Daniel Martin Moore is a singer and songwriter from Cold Spring, Kentucky. Stray Age, his first album, was released at the end of 2008 by the venerable Sub Pop Records. His second record, Dear Companion, is a collaboration with cellist, singer and songwriter Ben Sollee and was produced by Yim Yames. Recorded in the first half of 2009 in their home state, the album explores their ties to the place they love and addresses the impacts of Mountaintop Removal (MTR) coal mining on the people and heritage of Central Appalachia.

Cincinnati based Brianna Kelly crafts songs that attach themselves to a fleeting connection with the unseen world while rooting itself in a very real topography and landscape. A submission to a force that continues on with or without our attention/devotion. In her liturgical drone-pop songs Brianna weaves hypnotic drones and swells through “When You See It” and “Sanctus” while recalling Julianna Barwick and Grouper in their sedated push and pull. “To Behold You” is held sway under the plodding gloom of Planning for Burial’s linear heaviness.
