SofaBurn Inc, the 501(c)3 nonprofit founded by SofaBurn Records, is delighted to announce SofaGives '23, a fundraiser supporting healthcare costs for artists. The event will take place on August 5th at The Redmoor in Cincinnati. SofaGives '23 will begin at 6pm and conclude at 10pm.
SofaGives '23 aims to raise funds for 2024 artist grants, enabling SofaBurn Inc (SBI) to cover annual healthcare premiums for working artists who obtain health insurance through the marketplace. By mitigating the financial burden of healthcare, SBI seeks to empower artists to continue pursuing their creative passions and contributions.
The event promises an unforgettable night filled with live performances by Tim Reisert from Cincinnati, Shadwick Wilde from Louisville, and Super City from Baltimore. Attendees can also look forward to exciting live raffle items and an online auction. The Redmoor will provide food for guests to enjoy.
Tickets for SofaGives '23 start at $30 and can be purchased by visiting our ticket link HERE. Reserved seating options are also available.
Founded in 2020, SofaBurn Inc recognized the need to support artists with their healthcare costs, particularly in a post-pandemic world. Many independent artists must rely on marketplace insurance, and the financial strain of healthcare expenses can hinder their ability to continue their creative work. Since its inception, SBI has aided over 30 artists, resulting in a total of $15,000.00 in healthcare savings. In 2023 alone, 14 artists have received support amounting to $4,675.00 in savings. In a remarkable case, SBI assisted an artist in having $87,000.00 of healthcare debt removed through financial education.
SofaGives '23 is proudly sponsored by Johnson Investment Council and Iron Wing Studios, whose support has been vital in the success of this event.
