Rocktails: An Amped Up Spin On Mixology have announced their partnership with Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati as the creative curators of the bar programs throughout the Casino. Within Hard Rock, there are several bars and restaurants to enjoy, and Kristen Kreft and Mayalou Banatwala will be making their rounds to each, but for now, Rocktails is excited to unveil their cocktail menu at the Hard Rock Council Oak Steaks and Seafood.

Each Rocktail has a story honoring either a local music icon, or is a historic reference to Council Oak itself. On the menu you will find a William’s Old Fashioned, designed in honor of Cincinnati’s own musical legend Otis Williams. It is a smoked rum old fashioned, featuring RJ Dark Rum (a Cincinnati company.) On the first page of the Council Oak Cocktail menu, you will also find the Stirling Road, named after the road where the Seminole Tribe of Florida, owners of the casino, still conducts their tribe meetings under the old Council Oak Tree. This Rocktail is a fiery paloma with an Amped Up Spin, garnished with a stunning ice ball housing an edible flower made by local ice company, Big Ice out of Oakley. When you order a cocktail, please ask your bartender or server about the story behind the drink.

Rocktails is the concept born in a busy cocktail bar in Cincinnati, Ohio by mixologists and musicians, and frontwomen of their respective bands, Mayalou Banatwala (Heavy Hinges/Mynah Tones) and Kristen Kreft (The Perfect Children). While working together side by side for nearly five years, the team always had a dream of combining their talents into one really cool cocktail coffee table book. The two had created many cocktails throughout the years, and realized they were often dedicated to iconic musicians, bands, song titles or lyrics, which allowed the pair to talk to their customers freely about not only their cocktail creations, but a little bit about the artists behind the drink’s name sake.

After releasing their second book Cincinnati Rocktails: An Amped Up Spin on Mixology, a cocktail book honoring iconic musicians with a Cincinnati Connection featuring artist renderings by Dylan Speeg, photography by Angie Lipscomb, layout design by Jeni Jenkins-Moore of Renegade Babe, and published by Roebling Books, Rocktails has evolved into an events and bar consulting company.

Aside from curating the cocktail menus at Hard Rock, Cincinnati Rocktails: An Amped Up Spin On Mixology will be available for purchase in the Hard Rock Rock Shop.
