First Annual Winter Salsa Social at The Woodward Theater on Friday

The Woodward Theater in conjunction with Cincinatisimo present the first annual “Winter Salsa Social” on Friday, January 31st, featuring Cincinnati’s eleven-piece classic Salsa orchestra Son del Caribe with support from The Amador Sisters.

“A Salsa Social is an inclusive Latin dance party where everyone is welcome. An invitation to dance is like a mini conversation without the need for words. When we add live music, the energy and chemistry extend to and from the stage,” according to Gina Stough, one of three lead singers of Cincinnati’s eleven-piece classic Salsa orchestra, Son del Caribe.

When not performing regionally, Son del Caribe has been a local mainstay at Fountain Square since the inception of Salsa on the Square in 2008 and is considered the Midwest’s premiere classic Salsa orchestra amongst fans and musicians alike. Of recent note, the band was invited to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. last August to perform for a crowd of over 10,000.

Opening the night are The Amador Sisters. The sisters, Dali Amador and Maillelis Martinez perform a soulful set of Latin and traditional Cuban music that features the virtuosity of Amador’s electric violin and Maillelis’ extraordinary guitar work. Prior to arriving from Cuba and calling Cincinnati home in 2014, The Amador Sisters toured the world together and have since been making waves in the regional Latin scene.
