This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Conductor John Morris Russell will lead the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra at Music Hall in the Wonderful World of Oz, a concert celebrating the many musical adaptations of L. Frank Baum’s classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
“Since the book was first published, each successive generation has made Baum’s story their own,” says Russell. “My parents grew up with the legendary 1939 film starring Garland, Ray Bolger and company. For my generation, the 1970’s stage production of The Wiz and film defined Oz. Today, our kids have no idea who Judy Garland is, but they can belt out all the tunes to Broadway’s Wicked!”
Helping to bring these tunes to life will be guest vocalists from TV and Broadway, including Scott Coulter, Jessica Hendy, and Blaine Krauss.
Tickets for these family-friendly concerts start at just $25 for adults, $20 for students, and $15 for kids.
