Justin Courtney Pierre at 20th Century Theatre

Former Motion City Soundtrack front-man, Justin Courtney Pierre, is stopping in Cincinnati on Tuesday, November 13th on tour in support of his recent solo release, In the Drink.

Many considered Motion City Soundtrack a pop-punk staple over their nearly 20-year run. However, the band has been quoted as saying they don’t consider themselves a part of that genre. With influences such as early Weezer, Elvis Costello, Ben Folds, Superchunk, and the Flaming Lips; MSC put out six emotional indie rock albums with Pierre at the lyrical helm. The band said, “So Long, Farewell” (at least for now) in 2016 with a final tour that stopped in Cincinnati and ended with a final sold-out performance at The Metro in Chicago.

Lucky for fans like me, Justin couldn’t stay away for long and enlisted Joshua Cain, also of Motion City Soundtrack, to produce his solo album, In the Drink, which was released on October 12th of this year. In a call to action on Twitter, Justin posted his entire set list so we can “get familiar with them so you’re not bored for half the set”. Well, you heard the man. Listen to his new release and get your tickets for November 13th at 20th Century Theatre!
