Review + Photos: Gary Clark Jr.

Last night Gary Clark Jr. and his band rolled into downtown Cincinnati, OH and blew the doors off of the Taft Theatre! It’s rare for Gary Clark Jr. to play in intimate venues such as Taft Theatre so the lucky people that had tickets to last night’s show were treated to possibly the best concert that I’ve ever witnessed!

Check out photos from the show here!

To say Gary Clark Jr. impressed the people that attended his show at Taft Theatre is an understatement. Gary Clark Jr. and his band mesmerized the crowd for nearly two hours last night. He began his set with Catfish Blues and rolled into fan favorites like; “Our Love,” “When My Train Pulls In,” “Cold Blooded,” “Next Door Neighbor Blues,” “Ain’t Messing Around,” and more.

After dipping into his bag of tricks and performing a few tracks from his upcoming album “that’s sure to be in heavy rotation once the album drops,” things cranked up a few notches when Gary Clark Jr. played Bright Lights! The crowd gave a roaring ovation at the end of the set and after five minutes of continuous applause the band came back out and closed the night with an encore performance of one more song from the upcoming album and sent the crowd home with an incredible rendition of Come Together.

Gary Clark Jr. is the perfect blend of blues, rock and roll, soul and funk and that was on full display last night. People of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities all “Came Together” last night and were blessed with a performance that they won’t soon forget!
