Bourbon and Beyond returns to Louisville, Kentucky’s Champions Park this weekend September 22-23rd. The weather that weekend is expected to be in the mid 70’s which is the perfect weather for a weekend full of good music, great food and oh yeah… plenty of bourbon!
This is the second annual Bourbon and Beyond and tickets have been sold out for quite some time now. With the headliners they have in place there’s no wonder why! Saturday’s lineup is jammed packed and includes fan favorites like Keb’ Mo’, Sheryl Crow and David Byrne heat things up and the night is capped off with Lenny Kravitz and headlined by John Mayer. On Sunday the party keeps going with plenty of music that includes acts such as Blackberry Smoke, Gov’t Mule, Counting Crows, Robert Plant and Bourbon and Beyond is closed out with the legend himself: Sting!
The music at Bourbon and Beyond isn’t the only thing to be excited about. The selection of food at Bourbon and Beyond is an embarrassment of riches! Be sure to bring your appetite and remember to pace yourself because there will be plenty of options to seduce your taste buds. Some of the country’s top chefs will also be on location conducting workshops and mingling with the crowd.
The name of the festival is Bourbonand Beyond so there will be a lot of distilleries onsite and opportunities for bourbon tastings. There will also be workshops and other opportunities to learn and discover more about the intricacies involved in making the perfect bourbon.
If you are attending Bourbon and Beyond I suggest that you get there as early as you can and be prepared to pay at least $20 for parking. It’s also a great idea to install the Bourbon and Beyond app on your phone. It will help you keep up with the performance schedule and has all of the information that you need to set yourself up for a great weekend! If you decide to use Uber expect longer than normal wait times and be open to pool with other riders which could save you a nice amount of money. No outside food or drinks are allowed and there is no re-entry. Point and shoot cameras are allowed but leave your DSLRs at home or you’ll be forced to return them to your cars.
