Who: Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra
What: Audition Registration
When: Deadline to Register is August 1st (auditions to be scheduled the week of August 15)
This opportunity furnishes CSYO musicians the skills to develop their leadership abilities by fostering a commitment to excellence. Members of the CSYO have the benefit of learning how professional orchestra musicians collaborate and interact with each other and the community at large. CSYO students share in many wonderful educational experiences they otherwise might never be exposed to, including coaching from CSO musicians and conductors.
The CSYO was founded in 1964 by a passionate group of music educators who recognized the importance of providing young musicians a chance for serious training and extensive orchestral experience. Students receive valuable information to pursue a musical career path directly from those who have achieved this level of success.
Students should be prepared to:
- Play Scales
- Perform selected orchestral selections
- Perform a two-minute solo
- Sight-read
If you know a talented student, please feel free to forward the information.
No qualifying student will be denied this opportunity. Financial aid is available.
