Downtowne Listening Room and Memorial Hall have partnered up! The first of many shows is on Saturday, June 2nd with Georgia acoustic blues great EG Kight and special guest Maria Carrelli!
Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter EG Kight transitioned from touring as a country singer to a full-fledged blues/roots artist. And with her rich vocals, well-crafted songs, and inimitable sense of humor, she has since entertained on stages around the world. She has emerged as a preeminent voice in roots music, receiving various music industry nominations, including six for Female Artist of the Year, three for Song of the Year, and one for Album of the Year.
Maria Carrelli is a Cincinnati-born musician based currently out of the small but vibrant musical community that is Ludlow, Kentucky. Crafting folk based grass roots music, she probes her listeners by baring her soul through song. Her music is heavily influenced by old bluegrass standards, country music through the ages with an essence of modern folk. She has played music throughout the country and alongside various other musicians, weaving her own musical path as she continues to strengthen her songwriting and skill. She’s opened for acts such as Billy Strings, Darrell Scott, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band and Del McCoury.
