Music Resource Center Announces Cincinnati’s Sampler Series

Music Resource Center is excited to announce its second quarterly live music series, The Sampler, will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Aspiring MRC recording artists, vocalists, and musicians will engage the stage. The Sampler grants exclusive access to hear and enjoy the latest music from the center’s diverse community of teens in grades 7-12, who may one day be the music industry’s next innovators. The performance will be held at The Venue, MRC’s sleek black-box/lounge-styled space, and is open to all ages, free of charge.

“The Sampler is great because the crowd just goes crazy when you perform. I remember one time, I made a mistake and the crowd just helped me and I kept going because the crowd kept motivating me.” -Rodney (Freshman, MRC Gold Artist)

Doors open to the public at 5:30 p.m. and free parking is available in the lot behind the MRC. Prior to showtime, a casual dinner graciously provided by Snack in a Sak will be served in The Venue between 5:30-6:00 p.m. There, guests can mingle, meet MRC’s dedicated staff and volunteers, and learn how MRC’s programs empower the musical ambitions of teens from all of Cincinnati’s neighborhoods. The Sampler is a grand opportunity to witness raw talent nurtured daily at the MRC. Performances begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., and end at 7 p.m.

"For me, my favorite part is that it’s a celebration of MRC and the members' growth as they learn more about themselves and their music. It’s all about putting on a show for wonderful neighbors and friends in Cincinnati.” -Nick Rose, MRC Program Manager

Music Resource Center Cincinnati is a multifaceted teen program operating in its 7,900 sq. ft. space located in Evanston since 2009. MRC’s mission is to use recording and performing arts, life skills and mentoring to create a sense of empowerment and accomplishment in the community. Members can attend MRC and can choose to take music lessons, learn basic production techniques, record their bands’ songs in a multi-track recording studio, hold band practice, create original music, and perform in the live venue space.

MRC is funded entirely by private donations, and flat-fee membership for any student in grades 7-12 is $2 per month. (Scholarships are available.)
