Fans of hometown favorite rockers Heartless Bastards were excited to hear that lead singer Erika Wennerstrom will be appearing at The Woodward Theater for a special "Erika Wennerstrom and Friends" concert on December 23.
The show is part of a very selective run of tour dates Wennerstrom is doing this December.
It will be a showcase for Wennerstrom as she prepares for her soon-to-be-released solo album debut, and a great way for fans in Cincinnati to end their year with a hometown performance from one of their favorite artists.
Heartless Bastards have released five albums since 2005. Their most recent, Restless Ones, came out in 2015, receiving much praise from critics. Mark Deming of AllMusic wrote: "These songs capture an outstanding band hitting its stride, and growing more comfortable with the craft of record-making along with singing and playing great, passionate music."
The band has also made strides nationally, appearing on television programs such as Conan, the Late Show with David Letterman, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! They have also had their songs appear in acclaimed dramas, such as “Daredevil” and "Friday Night Nights."
If the past is any indication, Wennerstrom's upcoming show at The Woodward Theater should be a rousing success. Heartless Bastards played back-to-back nights at the same venue on June 25 and 26, 2015. The strong demand indicates that Wennerstrom and the rest of the Heartless Bastards will always have a place at home in Cincinnati. The Erika Wennerstrom and Friends show will be on December 23, 2016 at The Woodward Theater. Tickets are $15 for advance purchase and $17 on the day of the show. Doors are at 8:00 p.m. and the show starts at 9:00 p.m. There is also an 18+ age limit as well.
