Mac Miller
He may rein from Pittsburgh, but Mac Miller brings a piece of Cincinnati with him everywhere he goes. Gaining a great amount of notoriety from the Greater Cincinnati area surrounding the release of his independently-released debut album Blue Slide Park in 2011, Mac enlisted Cincinnati-native DJ Clockwork to his touring arsenal. Having signed with a recording and distribution contract with Warner Bros. Records in 2014, Mac released his major label debut album GO:OD AM in 2015, which was greeted with a number 4 spot on the Billboard 200.
Atmosphere
Minneapolis hip hop heroes Atmosphere have been a component in the Cincinnati hip hop scene for nearly two decades, having graced the stage at Cincinnati’s own Scribble Jam, once dubbed "America's largest hip hop festival", in 1998 and again for the festival's final year in 2008. Having announced their seventh studio album Fishing Blues, out August 12th on Rhymesayers Entertainment, producer Ant and lyricist / rapper Slug look back on 20 years of continuous tweaking of their perfect formula of neither straying too far off their path, nor resorting to playing it safe and that holds true on the new set. Fishing Blues is a collection of songs that both define and redefine the Atmosphere sound and features 18 new tracks written and produced by Atmosphere with appearances from DOOM, Aesop Rock, Kool Keith, The Grouch, deM atlaS and more.
Girl Talk
Sample-obsessed DJ and producer Girl Talk is seldom seen on a routed tour, making his performance at Ubahn Fest a significant phenomenon for Cincinnati. In his first release since 2010's All Day, the undisputed king of mashups teamed up with legendary Philadelphia rapper Freeway in 2014 to bring you the collaborative EP, Broken Ankles. The release combines both artists' distinct, high-energy styles into a continuously flowing collection of bangers. A Girl Talk set is infused with samples and loops that allow for plenty of variation throughout, with visual accompaniment to create an unforgettable experience.
Machine Gun Kelly
In the days following the Cleveland Cavaliers curse-ending Game 7 win in the NBA finals, MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) released a remix of his 2015 track, "Till I Die," dedicated to the Cavs following their historical victory. The Ohio native was hand selected by festival organizers to showcase some of the best hip-hop Ohio has to offer on a weekend where the Cleveland Browns will be town to battle our beloved Cincinnati Bengals. Having released his second studio album General Admission in 2015, MGK has shown significant growth in his artistry and fan base since rocking college-town venues in Cincinnati over six years ago, while retaining the relentless energy that hip hop was built upon.
