Des Ark has been described as, “backwoods hippy stuff that is profane and vulgar as any lady has ever been. Her compositions are organic songs that are driven by her soulful voice holding strongly to its southern accent and are driven by acoustic guitars and pianos.”
Des Ark is the name of Aimée Argote's long-running musical project. Based in North Carolina, the band has taken many forms, but has always been guided by the focused and hauntingly beautiful words and music of Argote, from hushed tones to roaring rockers.
Des Ark is touring in support of their new album Everything Dies out now on Graveface Records. The band recorded Everything Dies with a host of collaborators & engineers including Thor Harris (Swans) Andy Lemaster (Bright Eyes/Drive By Truckers), Jonathan Fuller (Engine Down/Denali), Brian Paulson (Wilco/Beck), Jordan Geiger (Shearwater/Hospital Ships) & Taylor Holenbeck (Appleseed Cast).
Des Ark is playing Saturday, January 16th with Saintseneca and Swim Team at The Southgate House Revival! Doors are at 8p and Show starts at 9p.
