Singer and Songwriter Serenity Fisher does not do ordinary. Her new CD is like a long anticipated conversation at a reunion of old souls on a long and winding path. One part folk, another part pop and jazz ballad, the eclectic singer and homegrown talent has been pleasing Cincinnati audiences since she was just a teen. Serenity does not disappoint with her latest work, Carousel of Love. The title track reflects her maturity that includes tours in the US and Europe over the last two years. That rich experience extends to her band, made up of Cellist Michael G. Ronstadt, a respected recording artist in his own right, Violinist Rose Riedmiller Gowda, a life-long friend of Fisher, and experimental percussionist and ethnomusicologist Matt Halvorson. Also joining Fisher is world renowned guitar virtuoso and Carnegie Hall veteran, Fisher’s dad, Bobby Fisher.
Carousel of Love was recorded in Tucson, AZ at LandMark Sound Recorders. It was recorded and produced by Petie Ronstadt, nephew of Rock and Roll Hall of famer, Linda Ronstadt and brother of Cellist Michael G. Ronstadt. Fisher and the Cardboard Hearts will perform at a CD release party on Friday, October 16 at Molly Malone’s in Covington, KY. This special event will also celebrate the release of Ronstadt’s 4th solo CD, Foolish Fox, which includes musical contributions from The Cardboard Hearts and the Ronstadt Family. You can get both CD’s at the concert.
