The National have announced that viewers who rent or buy the critically acclaimed documentary film "Mistaken For Strangers" via the digital distributor VHX, will receive a free download of the never before released song "Sunshine on My Back". The track features the vocals of Sharon Van Etten and was recorded in 2012 at the same time as their sixth album, GRAMMY nominated Trouble Will Find Me. "Sunshine on My Back" will also be made available for purchase and through streaming outlets.
“Mistaken For Strangers” is a hilarious and touching portrait of two brothers, Matt and Tom Berninger, set to the backdrop of The National's High Violet world tour.
Tom Berninger sat down with us to talk about the film in 2013! Check out the interview HERE.

"The funniest, most meta music movie since SPINAL TAP." - Pitchfork
"The finest rock doc since Anvil: The Story of Anvil. Matt Berninger, lead singer of the National, is a 40ish indie-rock star who carries himself like a hip lawyer. When he asks his slacker brother, Tom, to come on tour as a roadie, Tom turns the gig into a film about crawling out from under his brother's shadow. Imagine a rock psychodrama starring Tom Hanks and Philip Seymour Hoffman". - Entertainment Weekly
