The music of Timber Timbre is seductive and haunting. The atmospheric blend of sound and almost menacing lyrics pushes the boundaries yet draws you in to listen to more. Timber Timbre is stopping at The Southgate House Revival on Sunday, May 4th.
With Hot Dreams, Taylor Kirk and Simon Trottier daub vibrant color across Timber Timbre's ever-evolving palette, connecting arid western to plodding horror with the pomp of Hollywood phantasm. Hot Dreams is the follow-up to 2011's Polaris Music Prize short-listed and JUNO Award-winning Creep On Creepin' On, which was hailed for its "black humour and spectral beauty" (The Guardian) and "possessed…a style all its own" (Pitchfork). Billboard named Timber Timbre one of 10 to Watch at SXSW and said Hot Dreams sounds like "Nick Cave soundtracking a romantic date night." Esquire said it will turn "your day into the opening credits of a black-and-white art flick in all the best ways." In the UK, The Guardian called it a "smoky, Lynchian treat" in a glowing 5/5-star review.
