Alex Evans is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter from Cincinnati, Ohio. His music is folksy and organic with a hint of bluegrass. Open tuned guitars and images of nature can characterize his music. Alex is signed on Best Friend Records, and his first EP, “Life in the Woods” will be released May 5th at Rohs Street Cafe. during their 9th Anniversary Showdown with Pop Empire, The Happy Maladies, Sarah Finney and The New Heaven and the New Earth.
The first single released from the new EP is called “Sparrow in Spring”. It’s folksy and upbeat making you want to drive around the hills of Cincinnati with your windows down on one of our unseasonably warm early spring days. The lyrics “Spring is here, winter’s gone, open up your eyes” reminds us all of shedding our winter skin. Letting go of the baggage of the winter and getting ready for the freeness of summer.
This weekend marks the ninth anniversary of Rohs Street Cafe in Clifton Heights. This year, the cafe is celebrating the momentous occasion with an extended weekend of events from Thursday, May 3rd to Saturday, May 5th. Events over the weekend include open mic/ open walls, fundraisers, a potluck, and concert in the Auditorium on Friday and Saturday nights. For all of the details visit Rohs Street Café.
Come check out Alex Evans this Saturday, May 5th for the release of the EP “Life in the Woods” and be prepared to be blown away.
