This Saturday will mark the 6th annual Record Store Day in the United States. Over 700 independently owned record stores across the country will celebrate the event by providing special festivities including performances, cook-outs, meet & greets with artists, parades, dj’s spinning records and more. All stores participating are vetted to be true independent record stores that rely on brick and mortar business as their primary source of income. As we all know, online sale of music has impacted this business very much. This day is meant to celebrate the culture surrounding a true indie record store and remind people what these places can offer that you can not get by clicking download on iTunes.
