Based in Northside Cincinnati, Scissorkick Rituals (SKR) create sonic booms of garage-metal, punk-pop music captivating a broad audience. Nuke, El Vaider and Elemental have 25+ combined years of diverse R&R experience with several former bands of local/regional acclaim (Cadmium Orange, 7 Hills Stomp, This Is A Knife and The Comforts - a 2014 Citybeat Magazine Best Original Band nominee). Inspired by everyone from Guided by Voices, Mastodon and Motorhead to The Hives and Bad Brains, SKR's sound is fast and loud but fun and fresh.
In November 2014, SKR released their 4-song EP, Burn the Ocean, with positive thumbs up from fans and Entertainer Magazine. In February 2016, SKR completed their self-titled, full-length CD, recorded by John Hoffman at UltraSuede Studio and by Elemental at Elemental studios. The 12-song album neatly captures SKR's musical diversity; from the metal zinger "Frozen Charcoal" to the pop-punk gem "Fantasy Girls" to the danceable-ska influenced "Cat Lady".
SKR's fan base continues to grow with two consecutive appearances at WitFest, a 2015 slot at IronFest VI and call backs for multiple shows at several venues. The band is preparing a small tour of the midwest scheduled for Summer 2016 in support of its new album.
