Mission Man plays the drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, and he raps and sings. He calls his music hip-hop without ego, because he raps, but doesn't brag about himself in his music. Of course, that's just a starting point. Citing Prince as his favorite musician, and biggest musical influence, he belongs to many genres, including pop, funk, jazz, hip-hop, and even easy listening. He has released 14 studio albums, the most recent of which consisted solo of improvisational piano pieces. His next album will be entirely freestyle raps, over beats he created by playing multiple instruments.

Mostly, Mission Man makes music to help people smile, which is why some of his most popular songs are about playing basketball or delivering pizzas, but he also touches on very serious subjects.
