The group’s an eclectic collaboration among members of Columbus’ music community. When Jon Elliott of The Floorwalkers and Nick D’Andrea of Nick D’ and The Believers sat down to write a song together, their shared love of narrative style songwriting, and their knack for writing sprightly hooks and soulful melodies quickly produced a hatful of songs. The pair recognized this compatibility and called upon creatives in local company, inviting artists from fellow Columbus favorites Mojoflo and Forest and the Evergreens to flesh out the songs more in the studio.
Keeping the love in the Columbus family, Elliott and D’Andrea welcomed Mike Landolt to the producer position. Landolt’s engineering credits span influential artists such as Maroon 5, O.A.R. and Spin Doctors. His seasoned insight gave shape to Doc Robinson’s first single, “It’s Over,” a pop-funk farewell released Memorial Day, May 30, 2016.
Brothers Drake Meadery, a beloved venue and steadfast source of support for local, live music sponsored the recordings, providing the resources required to complete the group’s first EP "Golden Daze," released in November of 2016, Brothers Drake amplifies the sense of community this collective embodies.
Elliott and D'Andrea have continued writing new material at a rapid pace, and are spending the winter in the studio working on a full length release due out in early spring of 2017. Stay tuned for the the first single from the new record, due out January 24th.
