CincyMusic.com is celebrating our 3rd anniversary! Our photogs have rangled up some of their favorite photos for display at the new venue Madison LIVE. We also have asked our friends Young Heirlooms and Willow Tree Carolers to play! Come celebrate with us!
Young Heirlooms have a sound akin to the inviting melodies of Fleet Foxes, the instrumental chemistry of Nickel Creek, the individualized expression of The Civil Wars and the vocal harmonies of a Brian Wilson record. Folk-pop group Young Heirlooms out of Cincinnati, Ohio, have an intriguing and enveloping sound that strikes a chord with listeners far and wide. With an expanded 6 piece orchestration, tempestuous three part harmonies, passionate lyrics and heart wrenching instrumentation, Young Heirlooms are becoming Cincinnati’s “go to” heavy hitter band by creating meaningful and memorable experiences for their listeners.
Willow Tree Carolers are a folk, roots, and americana band from the Queen City Cincinnati, Ohio. They have taken their vast array of influences put them in a blender, added a cherry, and out came this style. Foot stomping is definitely not frowned upon, neither would be singing along, however you feel music is welcomed at a Willow Tree show. The band is made up of a cousin, two brothers, and two friends. The cousin Brandon Martin (vocals, ukulele, and guitar), one of the brothers Josh Sparks (vocals, banjo, and guitar), the second brother David Sparks (vocals, percussion, washboard, and bones), a friend to the family of Martin and Sparks Katie Beckstedt (vocals, violin, and mandolin), and friend to them all Moose Gronholm (on Upright Bass). Willow Tree Carolers bring their joy for music to every show they play. Whether it is a backyard family party, a bar, or a venue they simply are sharing their passion for what they do.
Madison Live has been under construction for the better part of three years and is finally ready to open its doors to the public! It is a welcome addition to our music community, as it will help attract a whole new group of artists that are too big for places like MOTR and Northside Tavern, but too small for The Southgate House Revival, The Woodward Theater, or Taft Theatre Ballroom. In addition to a 350 cap area for these smaller artists, the venue features an outdoor stage in a patio area that holds about 240 people.
