The Heights Music Festival Preview

The Heights Music Festival is invading Clifton tonight and tomorrow. The Heights has been a staple music festival within our city since 2009. Local talent from every music genre will be showcased so come out and see what our city has to offer. Not sure how to plan out which bands to see? Get our mobile schedule here.

Below is my agenda, leaving time to of course discover some new loves. Who are you going to see? Post your comments below about your favorites!

Friday

Wendy’s Yellow Poncho – I am a sucker for a band with a fun name. WYP is a positive 70’s influenced band that will take you back in time.

Second Chance at Eden - Described as musical vagabond’s, I hope to get swept up in some sweet tunes.

Damn it to Hell – Catchy grungy rock, guaranteed to be a good time. Plus, I know the words to sing-along (apologies in advance).

Founding Fathers – A band that prides itself on being influenced by Ween and LCD Soundsystem with a Talking Heads twist. I expect this to be the loudest show of the night with a possible impromptu dance off (fingers crossed).

Saturday

Alex Evans – Starting out my Saturday with my personal favorite genre of music, folk. Alex is very Ben Howard meets Tallest Man on Earth.

Horsecop – A punk band sure to kick start the dance portion of my evening.

The Natives – I discovered The Natives at The Heights Music Festival in April and have been in love since. I was so impressed we had them do an impromptu photo session in the parking lot.

Tickets are in advance $5 for one night, $10 for both nights. Or at door $8 for one night, $12 for both nights. Venues participating are Rohs Street Café (all ages), Baba Budans,  Macs and Christy’s.
