After six years of not releasing any music, alternative rock group, Brand New, released their new single “Mene” in April and are ready to showcase their new material to their Cincinnati fans on Sunday at the Bunbury Music Festival.

The band, who have been together since 2000, consists of Jesse Lacey on lead guitar/ vocals, Vincent Accardi on vocals/ guitar, Garrett Tierney on bassist, and Brian Lane on drums.   The band is well known for their songs “Mixtape,” “Okay I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don’t,” and “Jesus Christ.”

Their debut album, Your Favorite Weapon, was infused with pop-punk. As goes for their later albums, the band chosen more of the indie-rock direction, but also have not lost their roots in punk.

In 2003, Brand New came out with their second album titled, Deja Entendu, which reached to number 63 on the Billboard 200 and went gold status in the United States.

By 2006, Brand New went on their first nationwide tour in three years for their album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, and by 2007 the band’s spring tour was sold out.

In 2009, the band released their next album, Daisy, which also reached the Billboard 200 Top Modern Rock/Alternative albums and Top Rock albums.

Brand New have been touring for the last year and a half showcasing their new material as well as performing some old ones.  The last time the band was in the Queen City was at Bogart’s in 2008.

The band have been working very hard at their craft by releasing a new single, vamping up the new website with tour dates, and released those lyric booklets for their seminal album The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me

With that being said, the band’s anticipated fifth LP might come sooner rather than later.   Brand New debued their single “Meme” at a concert in Denver and the song was soon posted on to their website.  Along with the website, the band has reached more than 300,000 views for the single on Youtube.

The high energy performing band will be performing new and old songs during this year’s Bunbury Festival.

Brand New will be performing on Sunday at the Yeatman’s Cove Stage at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for Sunday are $89.10 with taxes and fees.
